What is the 3rd Chakra?
The Navel chakra or solar plexus is about confidence and feeling in control. It gives you a lot
of self-esteem. You tend to be more outgoing, friendly and sure of yourself.
When the Navel chakra is under-active, you may be passive and indecisive. You're probably shy
and unable to get what you want. If this chakra is over-active, you could be aggressive, domineering and feel
the need to be in control of every situation
SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA (Pancreas/Liver) (Yellow) (Manipura) (Coral):
Centre of inner wisdom. This is Men's power centre and Seat of
all emotions and feelings. The Third Chakra is the Mental Body. It is the Adrenal or Splendid Centre. The
vibration of this centre is yellow. This is where your opinions and judgments form. The covering of the bone,
or periostenum, vibrates yellow.

The third chakra furthers the development of self-esteem and personality, separate from your
ethnic identity. This is where you learn to draw and maintain strong boundaries and a personal code of
honour.
Sacred Truth : Honour Oneself. Be mature and honourable in the relationship you have with yourself and accept responsibility
for the person you have become.
Organs Abdomen, stomach, upper intestines, liver, gallbladder, kidney, pancreas, adrenal glands,
spleen, middle spine behind the solar plexus.

or acute indigestion, anorexia, bulimia, liver dysfunction, hepatitis, adrenal
dysfunction.
Issues Trust, fear, intimidation, self-esteem, self-confidence, self-respect, ambition, courage,
ability to handle crisis, care of yourself and others, sensitivity to criticism, personal honour, fear of
rejection and looking foolish, physical appearance anxieties, strength of character.
The THIRD CHAKRA is found in the naval region and is named "Manipura." It governs the digestive
system and is ruled by Mars. When Mars is adversely disposed in a horoscope, this chakra will display a lower
rate of metabolism or a restless and impulsive nature due to excess heat in the system. A well-placed Mars
generally bestows health, vigour, and the capacity to handle work and responsibility.
The Solar Plexus Chakra, situated just below the sternum, is where we find the energy to turn
the desire from the Sacral Chakra into action. It is our Will. So, the desire could be seen as the fuel for
the will, and the Fire in the Solar Plexus is the spark of life that ignites our Mental Will to
Action.
This Chakra is known by the colour yellow, and is governed by Mercury. It spins faster than the
lower chakras, but not as fast as those above it. It represents our “get up and go”, our action, will,
vitality and sense of personal power. Also, we now temper our desires (Sacral) and instincts (Base) with
knowledge, making decisions that are put into action and combine the polarities of the mind and
body.
This combination makes a greater whole and helps the personal power. How often have you heard
people say “My get up and go has got up and gone.”? This is symptomatic of a malfunction of the Solar Plexus,
as is being withdrawn, fear of taking risks, over seriousness and lack of energy.
At the other end of the scale is ‘bully’ behaviour, the need to be in control or to dominate,
and self-centredness. On the physical side, ulcers, diabetes and hypoglycaemia are indicative of dysfunction
of the Solar Plexus Chakra. Humour is a wonderful therapy for this Chakra, as is jogging and
yelling!
When the solar plexus is pure, then one is at peace with others, then one live a life without
conflicts, where all relations are positive, and all conflicts are stopped and transformed into exiting
confrontations, where one is learning instead of fighting.
The third chakra is the centre of personal power, the place of ego, of passions, impulses, anger
and strength. It is also the centre for astral travel and astral influences, receptivity of spirit guides and
for psychic development.
When the Third Chakra is out of balance you may lack confidence, be confused, worry about what
others think, feel that others are controlling your life, and may be depressed. When balanced you may feel
cheerful, outgoing, have self-respect, expressive, enjoy taking on new challenges, and have a strong sense of
personal power.
The Navel chakra is about asserting yourself in a group. When it is open, you feel in control and you have
sufficient self esteem. When the Navel chakra is under-active, you tend to be passive and indecisive. You're
probably timid and don't get what you want. If this chakra is over-active, you are domineering and probably even
aggressive.
