What is the 5th Chakra?
THROAT CHAKRA (Thyroid) (Blue) (Vishuddha)
(Moonstone):
Centre of communication and self-expression. This is connected to
the throat. The Fifth Chakra is the Etheric Body. It is
the Thyroid Centre. The vibration of this centre is blue.
This is the physical of the spiritual body. The Etheric
Body is the energetic template for the physical body. It
is the "light body" that underlies our physical form. The
front through out the body vibrates blue.
The Throat chakra is about communication and
self-expression. When it is open, you are easily able to
express yourself, and you might be very creative at doing
so.
When this chakra is under-active, you tend
to be introverted and shy, not able to talk to others.
One of the reasons this Chakra may become under-active is
from not speaking the truth.
If this chakra is over-active, you tend to
not be a good listener and may even interrupt others
while they are speaking. You may talk too much and tend
to dominate conversations, causing others to leave when
they see you coming.

Chakra - Fifth Chakra (Throat)
FIFTH CHAKRA: THROAT
CHAKRA The FIFTH CHAKRA is in the cervical region
of the neck and is named "Vishuddha." It governs the pure
mind and is ruled by the planet Venus. When Venus is
well-placed in a horoscope, the native can avoid danger
and disease and come to possess a benevolent and
forgiving attitude. An ill-disposed Venus leads to a
craving for material possessions, instils a pleasure
seeking attitude and makes the mind full of desire and
subject to allurements.
A beneficial Venus can transform the power
of desire into the power of light and wisdom. In this
way, Vishuddha, the centre of pure bliss, guides and
elevates the inner spirit of Venus toward all higher
values, sensitivities and refinements if his rays are
harmoniously arranged within the natal
chart.
Located in the Throat, this Chakra is ruled
by Venus, spins much faster than the lower 4 chakras, and
is represented as blue in colour. This energy centre is
all about communication, which is essential for genuine
interaction with others. Communication is not only about
talking, it is a two way street that incorporates
listening as well.
This is shown by the areas covered by the
Throat Chakra – the throat, mouth, ears, arms and hands.
We can often see people moving their hands and arms when
they’re talking – how would they manage without
them!
Another example is sign language – hard of hearing
people, who may not have the ability to speak with their
mouths, use their hands and arms
instead.
This is where we can express the creativity
that started in the Sacral Chakra and relate it to
others; this is where we can communicate our will and
love to others but also to hear others’ words and
emotions, which is equally important.
As a race, us human beings too often have a
fear of communicating our true inner thoughts and
feelings, or have difficulty in expressing ourselves
which is often seen as excessive shyness. These, plus
talking too much and not listening are disorders of the
Throat Chakra. Physically, thyroid, throat and mouth
disorders can also be experienced, as can constant colds
and flu.
Communication is an art (creativity), and
when the art is learnt can be a joyous experience, which
is why singing and chanting are two very good ways of
stimulating the Throat Chakra into positive
activity.
When the throat chakra is clean, then one
feels an inner, completely unshakable peace; one feels
strong, no matter the circumstances. Not a strength that
has to do with power, but a strength that springs from
resting in oneself, a resting in ones higher, or divine
self. When two people mix the energies from their throat
chakras, they talk together actively and intensely. If
one or both is trying to dominate, then the joint blue
colour turns dark, and figures appears which looks like
small ogres or witches, and also power-symbols, like
weapon of all kinds, may appear.
It is located in the V of the collarbone at
the lower neck and is the centre of communication, sound,
and expression of creativity via thought , speech, and
writing. The possibility for change, transformation and
healing are located here.
The throat is where anger is stored and
finally let go of. When this chakra is out of balance you
may want to hold back, feel timid, be quiet, feel weak,
or can't express your thoughts. Physical illnesses or
ailments include, hyperthyroid, skin irritations, ear
infections, sore throat, inflammations, and back pain.
When this chakra is balanced you may feel balanced,
centred, musically or artistically inspired, and may be a
good speaker.
The Throat chakra is about self-expression
and talking. When it is open, you have no problems
expressing yourself, and you might be doing so as an
artist. When this chakra is under-active, you tend not to
speak much, and you probably are introverted and shy. Not
speaking the truth may block this
chakra.
If this chakra is over-active, you tend to
speak too much, usually to domineer and keep people at a
distance. You're a bad listener if this is the
case.
How to work Your Fifth
Chakra
- Allow the truth 'Surrender Personal Will
to Divine Will' to penetrate your body.
- Move your attention to your throat area.
- Define your needs and desires for today
and let go of doing the same for others.
- Make the choice to love this day instead
of fearing it.
- Envision choices that result in positive
attitudes, memories, and feelings about yourself.
- Vow to express yourself honestly.
How to train Your Fifth
Chakra
- Move your attention to your centre of
will and choices, your throat area.
- Did you make choices that enhanced your
life today? If so, bless those choices, take a deep
breath and decide to put your energy into more of
them.
- What choices drained your energy? Review
them, call your spirit back and tell it that you
disempowered those choices and release them.
- Ask yourself "Did I speak with honesty
and integrity?" If not, call your spirit back and
release those words.
- Take a deep breath and direct your will
toward blessing the whole of your own life and all
the people who are in your life.
- Finally, say the prayer, "I release my
will to divine guidance."
