What is the 7th Chakra?
CROWN CHAKRA (Pineal) (Violet) (Sahasrara)
(Sapphire):
It is the opening to the universe; to the highest
consciousness; link with your spiritual self. Helps you experience
what you are and is connected with the brain, eyes and
central nervous system. The Seventh Chakra is the Etheric
Body or "Crown" Chakra. It is the Pituitary Centre. The
vibration of this centre is white. The Etheric Body is
our place of emergence with God, the Oneness, and the
All. If the entire energy system is working normally,
every pore in the body vibrates white light.
This system is redundant through out the
body. Every cell in the body has seven Chakras. All the
organs have seven Chakras. The seven Chakra systems
repeat itself in the hands, the feet, the neck, the ribs,
the face, and throughout the entire body.
The Crown chakra is about wisdom and feeling
connected to the world and everything in it. When this
chakra is open, you are aware of everything around you
and are accepting of all people and
situations.
If it is under-active, you're more "logical"
or more "scientific" and rigid in your thinking. You
probably are not very aware of or concerned with
spirituality.
If this chakra is over-active, you may be
overly concerned with spirituality and having a hard time
living in the every day physical world. You may also be
intellectualizing things too much.

SEVENTH CHAKRA: CROWN
CHAKRA
The SEVENTH CHAKRA is situated in the upper
region of the brain and is named "Sahasrara" chakra or
the "thousand petaled lotus." It indicates pure
consciousness on the Nirvanic plane, the state of ecstasy
in which the soul finds its identity with the Absolute
and gains final emancipation from the chain of birth and
death. This chakra is related to the
Moon.
A benefic Moon in a good relation with
Jupiter, the planet of Divine grace, causes auspicious
Jiva Yoga, which brings a wave of brilliant and sparking
rays that gives access to the abode of supreme Divinity.
This state overcomes the region of dualism and the
objective and subjective realms merge into one. Such a
Moon can harmonize the native's life with the Absolute
through invoking a mental rapport with the
Earth.
An afflicted or poorly placed Moon in a
horoscope causes mental aberration, lust and cravings for
material possessions. Such persons can never be happy in
life and will not let others be happy either. They
develop difficult characters and become proud, mean,
arrogant and. aggressive in their behaviour. This is due
to the weakness of the principle nervous centre and
causes adverse impulses within the body. Poor functioning
of the glandular and lymphatic systems causes damage to
the genetic structure and produces difficult diseases on
both the physical and mental planes.
Situated over the top of the head, the Crown
Chakra spins at tremendous speed, and is often referred
to as the Thousand Petalled Lotus. It is represented by
the colour purple, and it is through this Chakra that we
connect with the Universe and universal energies.
With this connection intact, we can receive
information and ideas, which in turn can be run through
the lower Chakras (as explained in the Third Eye Chakra)
and then brought into manifestation. Ruling the Pituitary
Gland, the Central Nervous System and the cerebral
cortex, as with all the Chakras, balance is important, as
imbalance can lead to feelings of Depression, alienation
and confusion.
This Chakra is also a great protection
system, as it only allows us to receive information that
we are physically and emotionally capable of dealing
with. As we develop and progress in our spirituality,
more and more information filters through, giving us a
greater awareness, but rarely are we able to see the full
universal picture - After all, we are only mere
mortals!
This chakra is the chakra that is the most
penetrable for light, and it represents wisdom, a deep
and all-embracing wisdom. When this chakra is clean, then
one knows everything, understands everything - nothing is
obscure concerning life, Gods will, and
creation.
It is the centre of spirituality,
enlightenment, dynamic thought and energy. It allows for
the inward flow of wisdom, and brings the gift of cosmic
consciousness. This is also the centre of connectedness
with the Goddess (God), the place where life animates the
physical body.
The silver cord that connects the aura
bodies extends from the crown. The soul comes into the
body through the crown at birth and leaves from the crown
at death. When this chakra is unbalanced there may be a
constant sense of frustration, no spark of joy, and
destructive feelings. Illnesses may include migraine
headaches and depression.
Balanced energy in this chakra may include
the ability to open up to the Divine and total access to
the unconscious and subconscious.
The Crown chakra is about wisdom and being
one with the world. When this chakra is open, you are
unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and yourself.
If it is under-active, you're not very aware of
spirituality. You're probably quite rigid in your
thinking. If this chakra is over-active, you are probably
intellectualizing things too much. You may be addicted to
spirituality and are probably ignoring your bodily
needs.
