Can we connect to the divine when directing healing energies? 

There are Spiritual Traditions in Japan of working with or calling on Protective forces of the Universe which can be very similar to guides as we relate to them. Guides may be a symbolic representation to assist you in translating the information coming to you directly from spirit but they are not essential, they are not a part of Traditional Reiki and may in some cases be an impediment to your own spiritual evolution should you become too devoted and fixated on them. 

We all do have a connection to the divine that manifests as what is called a companion or Guardian Angel. The higher and powerful spirits are energy forms who will assist you in your own personal spiritual evolution and for healing. Your companion Angel and your Higher self, the most spiritually evolved part of your whole self can help you connect with any guides you might actually need to work with. 

 Some of the energy systems I work with and teach do focus on working with your higher self and companion Angel but your Angel is with you anyway and you may not need specific training for your angel to work with you.  

Do you have a Spirit Guide ?  

Sort of! When in Reiki 'mode' (i.e. when doing attunements, giving treatments or otherwise truly BEING myself) I DO have the sense of a presence in and around me. However, it does not have a physical form and I do not give it a name. A student who can see such things described it as 'huge' and 'neither male nor female'. Quite! Why restrict ourselves to the guidance of a single monk, Red Indian or angel? But I have my angel guide and I feel and believe that even Dr. USUI is always present when I am doing any healing or distance attunement. In other word I am just the channel or medium and all my students are initiated and healed by Dr. Mikao USUI. 

I have heard that reiki can be sent to others at a great distance or in the next room. How does this work? 

At the heart of all metaphysical and spiritual teachings lies the understanding that we are all one and, therefore, all connected. Our scientists are now beginning to understand these phenomena through their research into quantum mechanics.  

You may have already experienced this in action when you have suddenly, and for no apparent reason, thought of a distant friend or relative… 

Moments later the ‘phone has rung and it has been this very same person on the other end of the line.  

Distance healing follows this same sequence. Through thinking of the person and intending to heal, the connection is made and the Reiki energy flows to that person. 

Must a recipient believe in Distance Reiki healing energy

 to obtain results? 

No, Reiki distant healing energy does not discriminate between believers and sceptics. An awareness of it's presence in your life is beneficial. I have witnessed many pleasantly surprised sceptics reverse their thinking after experiencing Reiki distance healing energy. I was one of those sceptics in the early days.

Can Reiki remote energy healing ever be used to hurt someone? 

Due to its divine origin, Reiki remote healing energy only produces good. No one can use reiki to do any harm or produce any negative effect on any living or dead organism. 

Why should requests for Reiki remote healing be more general rather than specific?

By being too specific, it often conflicts with someone else's free will OR the highest and best outcome for the recipient. It is better to focus on the general feeling from your desire.

Example: financial security, a loving relationship, good health, happiness. 

How long do the effects of Reiki distance energy healing treatments last? 

Reiki distance healing energy often produces positive life altering changes in how one thinks and approaches their life. The recipient and the higher source determine how the Reiki distance healing energy is best utilized.

Is it important to understand how Reiki distance healing energy works to derive benefit?

No, only a willing soul is the prerequisite to receiving this powerful and divine energy. I use electricity daily without ever understanding how it works. I listen to the radio and see the T.V. without ever understanding how sound and image reaches my home.

Is a Distant Attunement and Course Manuals Enough Training f or Me to Be a Reiki Healer as a Profession? 

A distant attunement connects you to the Reiki energy. You do not need any additional attunements to be an effective Certified Reiki Healer! As far whether distant training provides all necessary knowledge, the manual you will get has arguably all the information about Reiki and doing treatments that you will need, and will also give some references for excellent Reiki books. 

This will get you started on the right track, and may be all that you need because the important information is what you find out for yourself when doing treatments. Much of the "knowledge" with an energy system--Reiki--is personal, individualistic, and subjective.  

A teacher can be a helpful guide, gently pointing the way, but you are really the only person who can discover your own truths, of course. If you are planning on being a Reiki practitioner professionally, you might find it helpful to get some direct experience giving and receiving treatments with someone who does Reiki professionally, as this will help you get a better handle on the application of Reiki within a practice, legal and ethical issues, etc.  

But, if this is not possible, you will not be the first person who has found his/her own way as a healer. After Dr. Usui was "initiated by the light" and found he had healing skills, he too began the journey of finding his own path as a healer. He reportedly treated various people he encountered and gained many experiences before initiating a clinic.  

What are the answers to our sudden increase in Cancer, Heart disease and other increasingly serious illnesses? 

I feel the answer is not in medication but in education. I have always found that prevention is the ultimate cure! I do not believe our medical system has educated us enough in the cause and the prevention of our health problems.  

Most of our health problems are of our own creation through pollution of the environment, poor lifestyle, unhealthy diet and stressful emotional states.Many of us have slowly come to understand that our diet and environment can affect our health, but few of us also realise that our emotions affect our physiologies.  

Scientists have now proven that every thought generate messenger molecules called Neuropetides, these carry information between our body and brain. Every thought we have laterally has a direct effect on our cells. Depending on our emotional state we can direct positive or negative messages. Through proper teaching and guidance anyone can learn to increase physical and chemical health and healing in their body by using their thoughts. I believe this is what the doctor of the future will offer along with physical, nutritional and lifestyle advice.  

Where does this distant healing technique come from?                      

Dr. Ushui who developed Reiki also developed the distant healing technique. He called it "The Photograph Technique." He called it that because he required a photo of the person receiving Reiki in order to send the Reiki energy to them. 

Can I request distant healing for someone else? 

Yes you can. It is courteous to have their permission before requesting healing for them. Sometimes the person needing the healing can't be asked. In these situations, many Practitioners and Masters will send Reiki with the condition that it be received only if the person that it is sent to is willing to receive it. In this way, nothing is forced on anyone. 

Are there other uses for "distant healing" other than sending healing to some one? 

Yes. This technique can be used to travel across time, rather than across physical distances. This is a good technique for working with childhood issues or traumas, any thing that has happened to us in the past. Used in this way, this technique can be employed during physical reiki sessions or again, can be sent via the distant healing technique. 

This technique is mostly used in natural disasters, for sending healing energy to riots, wars and distress situations or during big travel by air, water or earth accidents.
